COUPLE/FAMILY THERAPY (15+)

* Please check your insurance plan for family therapy coverage. See below for more details.

We thrive best when feeling supported, connected, and understood within our most important relationships. Unfortunately, sometimes we may find ourselves feeling disconnected, unsatisfied, angry, or frustrated in those relationships, which can affect other areas of our lives, including self-concept, parenting, familial relationships, friendships, and work.

I utilize emotionally focused therapy (EFT) to help the couple achieve meaningful connection, increase effective communication, improve ability to tolerate difficult emotions, and learn to lean on one another for support. The loneliness and isolation that can occur when connection and support is not present can be detrimental to our mental health and lead to, or exacerbate, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Through years of extensive research it has been consistently found that EFT is an effective treatment approach in symptom reduction for such difficulties.

Couple/family therapy can help in a variety of relationship situations, including married, separated, engaged, co-parenting, same-sex, or other committed relationships. So long as each partner is committed to making the relationship work and improve, this therapy can be an incredibly beneficial experience.

Visit The International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) for more information on EFT.
